Jon's Wreck

So Wednesday Night Jon has to work late out at Solvay, so I just go home at regular time. Nothing new this has happened several times before in the past. He calls me about o'clock and tells me they have a flat tire they're gonna be later. I said ok... no big deal about 7 O'clock he calls I'm back in Rock Springs I'm getting on the interstate right now I'll be there soon., and its dark by 7 o'clock. 7:05 Jon calls me again "I'm gonna be a little late I just got in a wreck." I made sure he was alright, that there was nobody else involved in the accident, and told him I was on my way. Rebecca and I jump into my truck and head for Rock Springs. We didn't know exactly were the accident was I just knew it was by the construction because he hit the concrete barrier. So Rebecca and I just drove until we saw the head lights from the Toyota. Bryan from work was already there and they were in the process of changing one of the two flat tires.

Jon was going through the construction right out of Rock Springs headed toward Green River and they have a concrete barrier up to seperate the coming and going traffic. Well there is no reflector lights on these barriers. So Jon couldn't see his way through them well they make a curve and he couldn't judge where exactly the corner was and he hit the barrier twice, almost flipping the truck, and popping two tires. Jon was able to get control of the truck and pull it of in the median. So we get there and then my boss gets there with another spare tire. Rebecca ansd I were both holding flashlight while the three guys were busy changing tires, when low and behold the H.P. shows up. We all look at eachother and Rebecca said, "it's just some flat tires." So they Highway Patrolmen comes over asking what happened and everyone just kind of ignores him..... Finally our boss Rob who is also a Bishop answers the guy. "oh we just had a couple of flat tires." The H.P. says ok well there is 4 cars here......

Rob says," well yeah..... that car belongs to him(points to Bryan) he stopped to help, that truck belongs to me I'm the owner of the vehicle and that truck belongs to her she is his wife." and then smiles. So they H.P. just shakes his head, and at this point the tires have been changed but the Toyota won't drive the front tire was sticking.. so we are standing there as Bryan was trying to unlock the wheels. Finally he just gased it and took off down the median and a piece of the concrete barrier flies out of the front right wheel. The H.P. tells all to get our vehicles out of there and get to where we are going. He told us he was going to block traffic so we can get back on the interstate, but .... well he got traffic to slow down enough so we could pull back onto the interstate.

As you can see the Toyota was pretty much fine it ruined both driver side rims and tires and broke a head light, with minor scratches to the paint job. Jon is fine as well he was just really shaken up.

I'm just Thankful for 3 things:

#1- That Jon is ok and wasn't hurt at all!!!

#2- That the Toyota belongs to UESI and not Jon and Rachel

#3- For good friends and co-workers who were willing to be there and help out!!
