This might be a little graphic so if you have a weak stomach dont read it. I need to write this for me more than anything, and some people do want to hear the whole story. So with that intro here goes:

We were sound asleep and the bed began to shake. I had my back to Jon and wondered what he was doing, it felt like he was having a seziure. I rolled over to my surprise to see that Jon was infact having a seziure. His eyes were rolled in the back of his head, his arms were curled into his chest, his jaw clinched tight, and he was shaking from head to toe. I tapped his shoulder and yelled his name trying to get his attention, but he did not respond so I called 911. I told them my husband was having a seziure and I needed an ambulance right away. Blood had begun to pour out his mouth and I knew he had bit his tounge, but he was still breathing. Bridger kept hitting the side of the bed and yelling dad. About 3 mins later when the officer had shown up Jon had finally stopped seizing, but was still un responsive. Bridger ran and hid in the kitchen and would just peek around the corner. I went and got him and reassured him that everything was fine. The officer got Jon to open his eyes but he just glared at her and closed his eyes again. Soon the emt arrived and so had my mom to take Bridger. The emt finally got Jon awake but he still didnt know what was going on. He looked around not knowing where he was or who anybody was. The emt told him he had a seizure and he asked what that was. He then asked Jon if he knew who I was. Jon replied no. He looked at me and I said everything is ok sweet heart. He replied are you talking to me? I said yes I'm talking to you.
The emt just kept asking Jon questions and telling him to stay awake. He asked Jon again if he knew who I was jon stared at me and said yes. The emt asked who, Jon replied my mama. I said nope. Jon looked again said oh it's my wife. I sigh of relief went through my heart. He was back!
They thought it was best since it was his first time having a seziure and with his medical history to take him to the hospital. So they loaded him up on the gurney and mom took Bridger and we headed for Rock Springs Memorial Hospital.
6:20 AM
On the way to the hospital all I could think of is when Jon had his stroke a year ago his one request was to never take him to the rock spring er. He said he would rather die than go to the rs er. But we went anyway. They told us when we arrived at the hospital Jon had a Grand Mal Seziure, and it had lasted approximately 3 mins long. The doc we had in the er was the same doc Bridger had a month ago for his ear infection. She seemed competent enough. She ran some blood test to test for salt and sugar deficency. She also ran a ct scan to make sure everything looked normal. The blood test and ct scan all come back normal. They came to the conclusion the seziure was caused from his stroke or lack of sleep. She said it is very common for previous stroke patients to have seziures. So she called Jon's neurologist in slc and she said to start Jon on some anti seziure meds and to make up a follow up appt with her. We finally left the ER at 10:30 AM.
Jon has been doing well. His tounge hurts pretty bad and you can see the indent of his teeth where he bit his self so hard. His leg muscles were very sore the next day, but he has been a trooper and made through it all again. We have two appts scheduled for the 23rd of May. The first is the neurologist. They are going to do an eeg, a scan to determine what caused the seziure, so they can decide rather it is necessary for him to stay on the anti seziure medication. The second is the cardiologist. They are going to test his heart to make sure his patch he received last June is still sealed. It will be a busy day but hopefully we will get some good answers.
Thanks everyone for all the calls, emails, messages, and prayers. Jon and I appreciate them very much, and are grateful for everyones concerns and warm thoughts.

Oh my goodness! I had no idea that this had happened. How scary. I am glad that things are okay. Hope these next doctor visits go well. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Wow, you two are amazing people to endure through these trials! We hope that you'll be able to get good results back and this won't happen again. Our prayers go out to you.
I have a very dear friend who had several Grand Mal seizures when he was 25. They put him on anti-seizure medication and he hasn't had a problem since. He isn't allowed to drive, but that's about the extent of his "problem." Jon will come through this okay, I just know it. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
