I received my Young Woman Recognition Award again for the 3rd time. Young Women's Recognition Night was actually the Sunday before Jon had his stroke. We had to bear our testimonies of personal progress and then they gave each one of us a temple bag with our name embroidered on it. To be honest that is what got me excited about getting the award again. Then the church this year came out with the bookmarks and the medallions and I had made up mind I was for sure going to do it again. I'm currently serving as the second counselor in the YW presidency and I made a promise to one of my Young Women that if she would get hers I would also get mine. We did and we also got the Young Women's President Sister Saunders to get hers as well.
I enjoyed doing it again and I got just as much enjoyment out of it as I did when I was in young women's as a youth. My favorite part was reading the Book of Mormon. I have a hard time getting myself to just sit and read and especially since I was 9 months pregnant anytime I would slow down enough to do anything I generally would want to fall asleep. So I downloaded it to my mp3 player and listened to it at work. I found I got more out of it by listening to it than I did reading it. I didn't get my medallion till this past Sunday cause we have been gone with Jon in the hospital, but I'm glad I got it and look forward to wearing it.
