Memorial Day Weekend

We went camping with my family for Memorial Day Weekend. It rained on us the whole time, but despite the weather we had a blast. There was a slight mix-up in the packing list and when we got there we ended up with a tent but no tent poles. So Rebecca ended up sleeping in the camper with Mom and Dad, while Jon and I slept in the back of the JEEP. Which was probably best considering the weather we were warmer in the JEEP than I think we would have been in a tent. Because we were sleeping in the JEEP the dogs got the ground. We used the JEEP to block most of the wind and then placed a tarp on the other side. You can't see but Carter's box is behind Abby's motel. Poor Carter has never had to sleep outside before. I know my dog is spoiled. UN-like Abby who was born outside and lived outside until we got her. Either way they seem to manage. Both of them were exhausted by the end of the weekend. We couldn't get Abby to walk Jon had to carry her into the yard. Even the next day she went outside came back in and went right back into her box and lied down.

Rain or shine we had so much fun. Saturday and Sunday we did a lot of relaxing. Mom Dutch Oven a Turkey and Dad made this really yummy cake. Then on Monday Sam and Laura came up. The whole tribe was there and the battles began. :D We played kick the can until it started to hail, so we decided that it was time for a break. As soon as the sun had come back out we decided to play capture the flag. We even got Grandma and Papa involved. We had so much fun, that we didn't stop for the weather this time. Everyone of us noted that we felt like we had been jumping sage brush the next day though I guess age is starting to catch up to us. Although it was only 3 days and it rained we had a lot of fun and it was nice to get away. Enjoy the slide show:
