HAPPY EASTER!
Easter Sunday was good for the Spikes. I didn't send Jon on another Scavanger Hunt this year :( I couldn't think of anything to top last year!
We exchanged baskets on Saturday night. I gave Jon a Electronic Sudoko Game, and a deck of Coca~Cola cards.

Jon gave me the dress I am wearing in the photos:

and a pair of Realtree Girl Sweat Pants:

I taught the Lesson in YW and I tried to do an object lesson to help make them better
understand the meaning of Easter & the scriptures. So I made a CSI game where we had evidence and each item of evidence had a scripture reference with a statement from the witness. I gave each girl a piece of paper and let them investigate the evidence and then talk about their findings, then we read the scripture and took the witness satement.... I thought it was cute, and different. The girls not so much. :0( They kept saying " This is stupid!" " I don't want to read the scriptures." So needless to say I wont do that kind of a lesson again. After Church we went over to my Parents house for Easter Dinner. Mom is the best she made a big Turkey and Ham Dinner with all the sides. Like Mashed Potatoes, stuffing, relish tray, all the good stuff. Then she gave each of us couples an Easter Basket with tons of candy and a gift card to the movies. I collect Barbies, so my Mom and Becky took my Nephew Kaydon to Toys R Us down in Layton, to pick me out a Barbie for Easter. Becky said Kaydon kept trying to get her to buy me a Ariel doll because it had a cool dolphin you could play in the tub with, and he thought Rachel needed that. She kept telling him no. Showing him another doll that was more a collectable type, and he would say no she needs the Ariel doll. ( I can just see Kaydon wrinkling up his nose trying to convience Beck not to get me any other doll)
She was about to give up cause she couldn't find anything and she said Kaydon came around the corner with these dolls
, "What about this one?"So Thanks Kaydon!
I hope you guys all had a good Easter!

I think your lesson idea was pretty darn creative myself... Teenagers! haha lol AT least you put for a good effort and not the same old thing. I'm sure some day they'll appreciate it. ;)
