A week ago I heard some chewing noises upatairs, my heart sunk and I knew we had mice. So Jon went upatairs and looked they had chewed through all of my sugar and flour. We assumed they came in when Jon had the doors off, and was replacing the old ones with new ones (which I have pics on the house renovations... but yea you have to down load them... and I have done that yet) I bought some traps and put peanut butter on them.
The next morning when I checked the traps we had the biggest Deer Mouse I have ever seen in my life dead by our garbage can. Then we never heard anymore.
Till last night..... :/ we woke up to the sounds of a party going on upstairs of little scratchy feet. So we moved the traps around and put fresh peanut butter on them, and went back to bed. We just layed down and Jon heard a squeeky noise, so I got up and looked down the hall with a flash light and there a saw the little guy coming down
the hallway to me. I told Jon to get something we could smash it with and as he scurrying around the bedroom trying to find something the little guy keeps coming right to me. I tell Jon to hurry just as the mouse gets to my feet. Jon comes out with a shotgun. I tell him to just SMASH it, so he takes the butt of the gun and kills the baby mouse. Yes I said Baby it was no bigger than a quater. So I come to the realization of why it sounds like we have a party of mice upstairs... cause we are running a daycare for mice. We don't have just one mouse.. we have a nest of mice :( Oh it gets better....
So we go back to bed and I about jump out of bed because of the sound of something crashing through the wall at me. Once I realize the wall is not coming down we listen and we hear the mice through the wall.
So we get up once again and I'm looking at the wall and the cracks between the ceiling as I'm listening to the little buggers claim around. I see little white bodies go runing through the cracks as I count 1...2...3...4...5...6... I stopped!
YES we have a mice problem... I'm wondering if the big one we killed last week was the mom to all these little shits, or what the deal is. We have never had mice before, and I would have thought if it was normal in this house we would have had them last year when we had all the gaps in the walls, windows, and doors. Yes it makes for cold winters. But we didn't ... I just pray we can get rid of all the nasty little things so I can get some sleep and not keeping hearing feet scurrying around between my ceiling of the basement and the floor upstairs. Beside the fact that all the nasty crap mice carry.
That's are drama this week :/

Oh I'm so sorry! We had mice almost two years ago! I remember how utterly disturbing that is!! There are probably tons of them living in your house, I hate to say. We learned quite a bit about mice in the few months we dealt with trying to get rid of them, and needless to say where there is one there is probably about 20! :( You can stick out all the traps you like, but after a while they get wise to them, so the only way to really get rid of them is to find where they're coming in from. That's what we had to do. Once we clogged up the hole they were entering from, we haven't seen or heard anything in almost two years. I still get the willies though, whenever I hear a noise I can't really explain.
I hate mice - hope you can get rid of them pretty soon. Good Luck!
